Other Time Off Policy
In addition to vacation, holidays and sick time, BB&T will allow eligible associates to take paid time away from work for bereavement, natural disasters, parental bonding and more. Learn how much time you can use for these and other time off benefits.
Either parent can use to up to 20 days within 6 months of the date of birth.
Adoption or foster care
Either parent can use up to 20 days within 6 months of the date of placement in the home.
BB&T will allow up to 20 days of time off with pay to all regularly scheduled part-time and full-time associates called for jury duty.
Emergency Closing or Late Open/Early Close
This time can only be used with management approval.
Associates can take up to 3 hours annually to vote.
Associates are allowed to use this time off type for scheduled LifeForce appointments, including travel to and from the appointment.
Time off for natural disasters will be given as needed and can only be used with Executive Management approval. Managers should call their Regional Associate Relations Manager if they feel a natural disaster has occurred and need Executive Management approval.
Associates may use up to 10 days per occurrence for each of the following deaths: spouse, child, mother, father, brother, sister (step relationships included) or any person who at the time of death resided in your household as a member of your family (related by blood or marriage).
Associates may use up to 3 days per occurrence (up to 10 days total per year) for each of the following deaths: your son- or daughter-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, brother- or sister-in-law, or spouse's child, mother, father, grandparent, grandchild, brother, or sister.
