Sick Pay Policy
The policy for Sick Pay is designed to provide salary continuation to active, benefits-eligible associates who are absent from work. This policy is primarily intended to protect associates from loss of income due to a short-term illness or accident.
Other Time Off Policy
In addition to vacation, holidays and sick time, BB&T will allow eligible associates to take paid time away from work for bereavement, natural disasters, parental bonding and more. Learn how much time you can use for these and other time off benefits.
Leaves of Absence/FMLA
BB&T aims to provide continuity of employment by granting Leaves of Absence for periods of personal or family illness or injury and military duty.
We encourage our associates to be responsive to and active in community and civic affairs. A part of this responsibility includes serving on jury duty when called. Only in cases of emergency should an associate attempt to be excused from jury duty.
Involvement in Education and Community Service
BB&T associates are encouraged to take an active role in their children's education. Also, all regular associates are allowed to take 8 hours with pay, annually, to work on any community-related project of your choosing.
National Guard or Reserve Annual Training
You are allowed certain vacation hours if you are required to complete training in the National Guard or Reserve.
