Using Health Line Blue

Have a medical question or health concern? Don't have time to consult your doctor? Don't want to waste time searching the Internet for answers and information? From sore throats and ear infections to diabetes and migraines, get answers fast through Health Line BlueSM, BlueCross BlueShield of North Carolina's 24-hour health information line.

With Health Line Blue, you can speak to a specially trained nurse anytime, 24/7, for answers to your medical questions on virtually any health care topic. Health Line Blue offers support in both English and Spanish for the following:

  • Health Care Questions – If you have questions, Health Line Blue specially trained nurses have answers. These nurses can answer your health care questions and direct you to the best resource for your issue.
  • Care Tips for Symptom Relief – If you are treating an injury or illness at home until you are able to see your doctor, Health Line Blue nurses are able to give you care tips for symptom relief.
  • Medical Care Recommendations – Not sure where to go for a particular injury or illness? Health Line Blue nurses can help guide you to the most appropriate place for immediate medical care when you need it.

If you have medical coverage through BB&T, you not only have access to BlueCross BlueShield of North Carolina's nationwide network of health care providers, but you also have access to Health Line Blue at no cost to you. For immediate answers to your medical questions, call a Health Line Blue nurse at 877-477-2424. The Health Line Blue phone number is also available on the back of your member ID card.
